Terms of service

We approve every account by hand and can decline or close one at our discretion. Keep your password to yourself: you’re responsible for what happens under your account.

You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent where you live if that’s higher.

• Each approved account gets 5 cutouts and 1 AI scene free, once.
• After that, work uses credits: a cutout 1, an AI scene 5, and a video 1 for every 2 seconds. Opening a photo again, changing its background or shadow, and downloading are free.
• Plans renew every month until you cancel. Monthly credits are refilled at each renewal and don’t carry over.
• Credits from credit packs never expire while your account is open. Credits have no cash value and can’t be transferred.
• If something fails, its credits are returned to your balance automatically.
• Video and batch processing are part of the Pro plan.
• We may change prices. A new price applies to your plan from the next renewal after we’ve told you about it, and you can cancel before then.

Payments are handled by Stripe. Refunds are covered by the refund policy.

What you upload stays yours, and so do the results. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service to you. Your files are private to your account: no other user can access them, we never use them to train AI models, and we don’t share them with anyone except the providers that run the service (listed in the privacy policy).

Your history is kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. Download anything you want to keep.

• Upload anything you don’t have the right to use, or that’s illegal where you or we are.
• Upload sexual content involving minors, or create sexual or misleading images of a real person without their consent.
• Use the results to harass, defraud or impersonate anyone.
• Get around the credit system, rate limits or account approval, share an account, or resell the service without our written agreement.
• Attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, without a refund.

Cutouts and AI scenes are made automatically and can contain mistakes. Check results before you rely on them. You’re responsible for how you use what you make.

We work to keep ReplaceMyBG running well, but it’s provided “as is”: it may sometimes be unavailable, and features may change. If we ever close the service, we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice and refund the unused part of any paid plan.

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it applies. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
